Today a publicist asked me if I wanted an advance copy of the biography of a respected dead musician. I said no thanks. I read very few of those. I don't want granular information to interfere with my own conclusions, assessments, insights. It's in the music and the listener's response to the music. Now I know how to pronounce "stasis."
