Miter, I too was a fantasy Simpsons scriptwriter. I wrote two scripts when I was fourteen. I vaguely recall the one in which Homer gets his finger cut off by a blender and replaced by a robotic appendage. There was even a song to the tune of "Goldfinger" (Old finger! Etc.)
I should perhaps be more embarrassed, but what else is there to do when one is a bewildered teen?
Please consider this my application to contribute to your exciting project!
Absolutely! I've actually been contemplating asking you about this for awhile! I was thinking that it would work to display a haiku comic as a series of images backed with some music. But also I've seen you do some animations, so I was wondering about that as well. Feel free to send me an email at rjstubbs@gmail.com and we'll figure something out!
Yeah, I do my distribution throuhg LANDR now, have used others like tunecore in the past. Now streaming distribution goes to 27 stores, social media and music recognition services. A lot of them are for global distribution, so it sort of makes sense.
But, it just seems strange that the entire catalogs are just out there to be bought, create companies, and transfer around money and ownership of the rights in different equity funds/shell games or whatever...enshittification indeed!!
I use Tidal but no one else does haha. Best to diversify, make it available to ad many services as makes sense. Like with books, I always get frustrated if an indie book is only on Amazon because I much prefer my Kobo eReader, but the more I try to read indie the more I feel like I'm being forced to buy a kindle because reading whole books on my phone is ass. But that's a whole different tangent.
As far as Tidal goes, as a listener I really enjoy it but since I'm not a musician I don't know how it stacks up. I do know that the royalty rate is better which is one of the reasons I choose to use it.
I was trying Tidal, maybe like 6 years ago and I ended up just really preferring the Spotify discovery algorithm. It was uncanny! I think, mainly, because it included input from human music critics. Now, I think that algorithm and the human aspects of it are all deteriorating...I don't know if any particular changes have been made, but I'm finding suggestions to be repetitive or not on point. I suspect it's become more machine based and will start suggesting AI generated music or wherever it can find profit margins to not pay people.
Tidal also has better audio quality, so that is good too. Might be a winner. I just don't trust any of them any more. But I also really like having access to all recorded music!
I'm digging your voice and manner of engage, and sense of communitas. Sail with and into your winds!
thanks very much Kenneth, I really appreciate your encouragement!
The music show is gonna be outta sight!
Absolutely loving your Simpsons spec episode, Sir. Also your first footnote really, really made me chuckle.
Thanks so much, Chloe! Haha, yes that's me. ✋❤️(I meant this emoji to mean raised hand and heart, but maybe it works better as hand on heart)

Ha, that is a really good Simpsons premise! Old finger, it's brilliant.
Application gladly accepted, Zookie. Feel free to email me any ideas or to help brainstorm dumb stuff! rjstubbs@gmail.com
I love the premise of your Music Television Program! If there is any way for my contribute I would love to be a part of it!

Will do!
I literally know one person that uses Deezer (and Qobuz, for that matter), and it's for linking to tracks in his newsletter.

thanks for the comment, Lisa!
